The Story Goes...

I founded Smith Brothers in 2024 to combine my love for history, craftsmanship, and the hands-on work I grew up around. The name "Smith Brothers" is a tribute to my father’s fine carpentry business, Smith & Sons, which exemplified quality and tradition. Growing up, I had the privilege of watching my mom teach and my dad restore historical buildings, each instilling in me a deep appreciation for their crafts. My mom’s passion for education inspired my eight-year teaching career, while my dad’s dedication to craftsmanship sparked my own desire to work with my hands and carry on the family legacy.

Archery has always been a big part of my life. From a young age, I’ve enjoyed spending time with my dad and three brothers in the outdoors—camping, kayaking, and honing my skills with a bow. Archery taught me focus, patience, and precision, qualities that I now bring to my work in tile, remodeling, painting, and all the little odd jobs that go into making a space truly shine. The same discipline required to hit a target applies directly to the dedication needed to renovate and restore a home with care and attention to detail.

Now, I live in Staunton, Virginia, with my wife, Kristen, and our dog, Indy—named after my childhood hero, Indiana Jones. When I’m not working, I love being outdoors, hiking, watching EPL soccer, and hunting for unique finds at thrift stores. Kristen plays a huge role in supporting this endeavor behind the scenes and often lends her eye for design when she gets the chance, helping to make each project even more special. Every project I take on is an opportunity to honor the legacy of craftsmanship while creating something meaningful for others. Whether I’m renovating a bathroom, restoring a deck, or installing tile, I approach each job with the same focus, dedication, and passion I learned growing up.
